Shar Walden is a Program Development Officer with Deadly Choices at the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health, where he develops culturally responsive health promotion programs and resources that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. Passionate about prevention, education and community engagement, Shar supports the design and delivery of initiatives that strengthen cultural identity, promote healthy lifestyle choices and create positive outcomes for young people, families and communities. More recently, Shar has taken on a role as a Community Educator for Gambling Support Service, delivering culturally safe education and community engagement activities that raise awareness of gambling harm.
